But US and England are currently tied on their standing and score but the goal difference will tell you more about it.
According to Washington Post :
On the situation of US and England, 2010 World Cup tiebreakers:
There are ways to advance United States in the World Cup Round of 16.
IF THE U.S. DEFEATS ALGERIA : US will advance
IF THE U.S. TIES ALGERIA : This will come lots of scenarios like US will advance if England where defeated vs Slovenia. US Soccer will advance if England and Slovenia ties and Slovenia limits England with lesser total goals over the US. The US Soccer will not going to advance in the Round of 16 with a tie with Algeria and Slovenia where defeated by England.
BUT IF THE U.S. LOSES TO ALGERIA : For sure the dream of the USA will remain a dream because they will not advance to the Round of 16 teams.
In my point the easiest way is to defeat Algeria and that’s it! It will be goodbye for England in the first preliminary stage and that will be awesome!
